making links to documents

  I’m looking at WordPress because I need the ability to upload and link to documents and then to delete them easily when no longer needed. I’m trying out the free Personal account to see if this can be done, and can only see the ability to make links to URLs, not documents. What am I missing?

  Hello @first5tuolumne,
  You don’t need to upgrade to a paid WordPress Account if you just want to create links for documents. You can do that for free.

  Follow these steps:
  1. First upload your document. To do that click on Add Media if you are on the Post/Page Editor screen or just upload it here: https://wordpress.com/media/
  2. Then, choose the document and click on the Edit at the bottom left corner.
  3. Copy the URL of the document from the URL field. and click cancel.
  4. And then follow this guide to link documents to a text: https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/links/image-links/
