Making money from WordPress
-
Hi
I am sorry if the questions has been answered somewhere else, I have been unable to find it
I am new to wordpress and have really enjoyed it so far. I have had a lot of friends and a couple of business owners I know ask about my site and weather I can set one up for them. I plan to do this for free and simply charge them the overhead (domain and VIP package if they want that) I also plan to cross advertise between the sites as I think it will help spread awareness about them
I have read through the terms and conditions and am a bit unsure of a few things. My questions are
1) Am I aloud to do this?
2) If in the future I decided I want to charge people to set up and manage their site is that aloud?
Any help on this would be great
Thanks in advance -
You are allowed to set up sites for other people. You are even allowed to charge them for this.
You are NOT allowed to “cross-advertise” on the blogs. All blogger-initiated advertising is banned here. -
Hi raincoaster
Thanks you very much for your reply.
By cross advertise I was meaning just to say I had created the site. I was planning to put something like “This site was made by paddyjhobbs and is proudly powered by WordPress”. And on my own site have a tab called sister sites, linking to others I have worked on. Is this still banned? Thanks

That’s not banned, that should be fine. Or if it isn’t, they’re gonna suspend MY blog too!

Thanks
Final questions and I am pretty sure I know the answers to them.
1) I write articles for other websites. Can I post on my blog linking to the article?
2) I also plan to add a reviews section in the future. To review books, movies and websites. Would this be considered advertising and be banned? -
1) yes
2) no. In fact, if your reviews are substantive you’re allowed to use an Amazon affiliate link to link to the item. You cannot get the item for free in exchange for a review or be paid to review the item. -
