Hi there, I am trying to make posts in the pages that I have created. What I want to achieve is to be able to make posts just like on my home page in the pages. Please help me if you have any clue about how to do that.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages and posts are very different things. You cannot put posts on pages that you create. Pages are designed for static material that seldom changes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

With blogs, the way you organize posts is by using categories, assigning appropriate categories to each post. When someone clicks on a particular category name in the sidebar widget, they are taken to a page with just the posts in that category. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-categories/

If you want to further control your reader’s experience, you can create a static front page and then include links to the various categories on that page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

You can have only one posting “page.” The posting page is the essence of your blog, and you can have only one “posting ‘page'” per blog.
    See here for details:

What you need are categories. See here:

Thank you for your help. The static front page does not work for me nevertheless I know know that i have to think differently to come to what I want.

Thanks to both of you. I am already thinking of something different to come up with. The sad this is that the content of your pages do not get published in your feeds. If you know how to get around this problem, please let me know. Thanks.

Make them Posts instead. That’s the only way.

Using pages for your content has drawbacks:

    1. Pages will show up lower in search engine results because search engines place lower emphasis on pages. Pages are meant for static content. For some types of sites, this may actually be the best way of presenting the material though.

    2. When you publish a post, wordpress automatically “pings” all the major search engines to let them know you have published a new post so that they can index it. When you publish a page, wordpress does NOT “ping” the search engines. You will have to ping manually at a service such as pingomatic.com.

    3. Only posts show up on an RSS feed, pages do not. That means people cannot subscribe to your blog so that they are alerted when you add something new.

    4. You can assign categories and tags to posts to help the search engines properly place you in search results. Pages cannot have tags or categories as they sit outside the blog structure.

Well alright then, sorry for the grammatical by the way. Thank you

Right! Feeds are good. And you only get them with posts.

You don’t need to have a static page to use categories. Being able to use categories is a very powerful way to guide your readers to the information they are looking for.

Using categories is not necessarily intuitive, but once you grasp the idea as a blogger, you will understand that it’s very useful for a reader. Read blogs yourself and consider how you look for articles which interest you.

Also, in some themes, there is a trick you can use to link top navigation tabs to categories, or other internal or external pages: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/page-tabs-as-external-links/ . This trick works in the pages widget of all themes.

Also, the new iNove theme allows you to set your top navigation tabs to either link to categories or pages.

I hear a lot of people saying, well they did it on this other blog – having posts on different pages – but on everyone of those I look at, they are doing it with categories.

This comment is very interesting and full of informations. I will take them in consideration in my attempt to post my studies on different subjects. Saying that I do not really get the concept of having pages. Thanks

Pages are for things like “about” or perhaps a list of resources – things that seldom change. I use pages for my links/blogroll and also for my archives so that my sidebar remains clean and not a mile-and-a-half long.

If you do not understand the point of Pages, simply don’t use them. Eventually you may find a use for them, but many bloggers never do.
