making posts on front page only show summary
-
Hello,
I would like to have the front page of my blog only show a summary of the post with a photo, not the whole post.
Then, when the reader wants to read the whole article, he/she can click on the title, which takes them to the whole post.I have clicked on “reading settings” – For each article in a feed, show: summary, but this does not seem to help.
Let me know how I can sort this out!
ThanksKlara
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That setting is for the RSS Feed only. Regardless of the theme, to create front page post excerpts we can split content by inserting “the more tag” http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

NOTE: On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.

Are you looking for WordPress.com themes (free or premium) that automatically display post excerpts on the front page of the blog, rather than displaying the full posts? If so then you are in luck as there is a list you can use but do note that it’s subject to change.
