Making revenue sharing website, will that work on wordpress?

    Hello!

    I am new here in the world of website creation and currently doodling with an ambitious project I need advice on.

    My idea is to create a website with curated content from members who come and post their work/blogs/articles…something like hubpages. And am also planning to put a revenue share system to attract these potential members and see if I can get mostly original content (like hubpages tries to do for the sake of page rankings)

    Now my question is, will this project work with wordpress, given that my website will have to handle an unlimited number of member profiles, loads of new content, lots of re-shares (a bit like pinterest), and most importantly, my website has to have a very good navigation speed and look fresh and beautiful…

    ANY advice on how I can pull this off, as am a newbie on website making and the like, would be appreciated.

    My advice is clear. You cannot do that on a WordPress.COM hosted blog. Hire a web host http://wordpress.org/support./ and set up your own WordPress.ORG install. WordPress.ORG offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database. Learn about the differences here. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums.

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

    Thank you timethief for the info, but I do have web host and a .com website. So that part is sorted.

    However, I still need the forum’s view/opinion on whether a revenue sharing + forum + member profiles etc, kind of website is possible on wordpress and if anyone can direct me to websites like hubpages and pinterest style websites built entirely on wordpress please.

    Am very keen on wp and hoping to work on my project but would need more clarity before I go about doing it.
