Making site look like theme image

    I have a number of posts that I would like to sit side by side, magazine style, as they do on the theme options page when I chose my theme. I am not seeing a way to post several posts (or articles) at one time to create the appearance of a magazine, rather than a static blog with individual posts. Is there anyone that know how to tell how the posts will appear when I set it up? (I am somewhat tech savvy, but pretty new to working with WordPress.com). Thank you!
