Making specific page content searchable in google
-
Hi,
I’ve been adding some lists of orphan sales records to my research website in case some of the cars still exist. Would be great documentation to have with the car! Anyway, I’m slowly posting lists of the cars I have stuff from in an effort to reunite them. I posted several lists last week and only one seems to come up on google.
If I search a serial number from my 71-76 list on google, it comes up with a link to the page. For example, searching 164391C100048 comes up with this page:
https://impalas.org/1971-1976-fullsize-chevrolet-document-list/
However, the 68, 69 and 70 lists don’t work if I search a serial number (ex. 164878C100104) from any of them on Google. I created all 4 pages the same way I thought and I’ve looked through all? the possible settings plus did various searches on the issue. Most results are for someone who’s whole website isn’t searchable at all.
The other odd thing is I can search a serial number from one of the other 3 lists on the search feature on my website page and that works! Not sure why it wouldn’t work on google.
The other 3 lists can be found here: https://impalas.org/info/
Thanks for any guidance! It’s not often I’m stumped. Warren -
Howdy!
Firstly, this site is not hosted on WordPress.com, so we cannot provide support. The best place to go would be WordPress.org/forums. However, depending on what features your host offers, it might be good to ensure your site is verified with Google Search Console. Here is what we offer at WordPress.com that might be helpful to find with your host: https://wordpress.com/support/site-verification-services/
This is good to do because the search engines generally crawl sites every 4-6 weeks. However, getting your site verified will allow those crawls to occur much quicker and more often.
I would recommend contacting your site’s host, which looks to be GoDaddy, to find out if this can be done. Or, if you are interested, we would love to help you migrate your site to WordPress.com and help you do this verification directly. Just let us know!
Thank you!
