making tagline appear

    I need to know how to make my tagline appear. I’ve read all the posts here and tried the solutions listed, but I ran into a roadblock everytime. I just taught myself to use WordPress this weekend, so I’m a baby at this. The part I’m stuck on now is this:
    In case it is not displayed on your website by default, please navigate to Appearance > Editor.
    I can’t find an editor under Appearance. Help! Its important. Thank you.
