    Hello there,

    Thanking you in advance if I can get any help with this request. I am a complete amateur when it comes to web stuff – so would be very grateful if I could get some help with making a background for one post only black – it is needed to host some striking photography.

    thank you again!

    Each post has a unique ID which you can see if you right click and “Inspect Element” in most browsers, here’s how you’d make changes to your most recent post:

    #post-1877 .post-entry {
      background-color:#111;
      padding:10px;
      color:#eee;
    }

    If you paste this code in to the text area (delete all the default text there first, it’s not needed) in Appearance > Customize > CSS it will make the background dark, the text light and add a little padding so that it looks neater.

    If you really want to show off your images (without the upgrade) you can include an image gallery which, when clicked, can open up into the full sized carousel view and that’s a straight-out-of-the-box WordPress feature. I’d encourage you to check out the support pages and test it out with your theme!

    Wow, thank you, hallluke, you have just made my day, thank you so much for responding so quickly. I will try to do what you have suggested, the image gallery and the carousel view might be just what is needed for a mini-online exhibition.

    Thank you again! xx
