Making the site available

  So, I’ve made a website and published, but I cannot launch with the free service. Does this mean I can only have a site other people can see if I pay? I have a few friends who set up websites with wordpress and were able to publish without paying. Why can’t I?

  Hi there,

  Are you speaking of https://melissaiversauthor.wordpress.com/?

  Go to My Site ->Manage ->Settings, and click on Launch Site.

  On the domains step, don’t try searching for a custom domain, but just click on the link that says Skip Purchase. Then you’ll be able to continue with the free plan on the next step.

  Yes, that is the website. I go through all of those steps and it doesn’t give me that as an option. It only includes the paid plans but does not let me skip the step.

  So for whatever reason I was able to launch it on my cell phone. It had the skip this step at the bottom, whereas on the computer, it was totally MIA. Thanks!!
