Making Two Blogs One
-
I’m planning to do a big deal and hoping it won’t be impossible. I have two blogs on WordPress: the URL in the line above is Dirty Laundry, my general writing; and Bookbuster at marcysbookbuster.wordpress.com promotes my editing and writing business. I want to combine them into one blog, slanted primarily towards business but including many of my general writing posts that are relevant, like book reviews or notices of publication.
I know it is possible to import files to another platform; so is it possible to import one of the blog’s posts to the other one? Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated, since I sat and stared at my blogs today in a daze: I am overwhelmed by the enormity of this task.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I went into one of my blogs and opened the Import tool, and the message I got was:
“Howdy! Upload your WordPress eXtended RSS (WXR) file and we’ll import the posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags into this site. Choose a WXR (.xml) file to upload, then click Upload file and import.”
Okay, I hate to reveal the extent of my tech ignorance, but what exactly is the WXR file? How do I find it? I didn’t do anything else; at this stage I am slowly scoping this out. I might decide I just have to hire someone.
