Making your blog more visible…

What is the best thing to do in order to increase the visits in your blog? I have tried blog catalogs but they all require plug ins. Since you can’t upload any plug in to wordpress.com what is the best way? Is there any other catalog where you can submit your blog without charging you the earth? Is there any possibility to upgrade the wordpress.com to a higher version where I can have more possibilities?

Please do a simple search of the forum; there are hundreds, if not thousands of tips here already.

Write about interesting topics, write well, write often.
Also think about what people might search for when you choose tags. For example, your post “How to set up your home recording studio 1” might benefit from the tag “home recording studio” more than your tag “sound” which is quite vague.

Google search “sound” and here is what you see:
Results 1 – 10 of about 589,000,000 for sound [definition]. (0.13 seconds)
Your blog may be the last one of the 589,000,000. (note: I did not look at all of the possibilities there!) -
Also, why be shy? Link your name to your blog!
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to ‘contact info’. In the spot where it says ‘website’ fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now… when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won’t have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.
