Malicious code/Virus on my free blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello. I have been getting complaints about malicious code and virus activity on my free blog:

What can I do? I posted a gif yesterday, but some of the complaints came before that.

    Thanks!

I am using Firefox 5.0 and I do not get a virus message when visiting your blog.

Are you using the https:// log-in? See here for what I mean > http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Which browser and version of it are you using and have you tried this?

Had you had a recent update to your security program on your computer? What is your operating system and which security program are you running?

I have not had any problems, but my audience has reported multiple issues. Is it possible for viruses to be planted in my blog without my knowledge.

There have been a couple of cases where an anti-virus program on a persons PC had a false positive. the staff worked with the AV maker to have the problem fixed. For that you should contact the Staff.

Also your site loads like a pig, that is a great turn off for many visitors – I would not have waited for it to load except I was looking to see if I got an alarm.

Consider having fewer Posts on the front page or using the More Tag to have less content from a Post show on the front page – loading a ton of content that I have already seen is a big turn off for many people.

This is not likely to be a case of a virus on your blog at all. Are you the only user of your blog or do others have Admin access to the blog?

    When security programs are upgraded this can produce a false warning. Recently we have had 2 reports of Kapsersky upgrades causing warnings. In any event we cannot help the visitors because we do not know the answers to these questions;

How are you accessing the internet (dial-up, DSL, mobile, etc.) and wordpress.com/
    What is your operating system?
Has your operating system been recently updated?

Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and at the bottom there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

Sometimes when a blog takes too long to load, people will see that warning. Follow the advice above to reduce the load time, and that should eliminate the problem.

Thanks everyone, I am VERY satisfied with the help!

I cut the posts per page down and it runs MUCH better. I had increased up to 24 posts and that was causing the issues. Now I only have 6 and it is golden!
