i check other android phone, dropdown appears but not able to make selection. Mine android phone totally cannot show selection.
i am using Google. Any setting i need to do? -
-
The widget is working for me in Google Chrome on Android. If it’s not working for you in Chrome, check that you have JavaScript enabled. You do that under Settings ->Site Settings in the browser.
If you’re using a different Android browser, please let me know which one so I can check.

tried tablet & desktop – OK
but, smart phone – not OK
Javascript is enabled

If you can tell me exactly which browser and browser version it is, I can try testing this, but the problem might be that the browser doesn’t support the code that makes that widget work.

The mobile theme only changes how your site looks, not how the site or any widgets on it works.

Google Search is not a web browser. It’s a search app on your phone. If you click a link in that app it opens a web browser, a completely different app. I need to know what that browser is in order to check if the widget works there.
We’ve checked on different browsers on our end, and the translate widget is working on all of them, so this problem might be specific to your phone. Unless we can duplicate the problem on our end, there really isn’t anything we can do.

That is the Android version, not the browser version, but based on that it looks like you’re using an outdated browser. Android 4.0.3 is very old, and it won’t be running the newest version of the Android browser, which means some features on websites won’t work.
You can try installing a different browser like Chrome or Opera from the Play store, but chances are they won’t work either. Your device is simply too old to understand the code that makes the translate widget work.
But it is working in all browsers on newer phones, so that widget should work for other people who visit your site.

As you said, it has some limitations ;-).
But i am much happier with Opera than earlier browser.
Thanks again. Is there a way to bring the translator and counter to the top than at the bottom?

Excellent. I’m glad to hear it works in Opera.

This might be possible using custom CSS, but it’s way beyond my expertise level to do something like that, so you’ll need to ask the experts in our CSS forum. You also need the Premium or Business plan to use custom CSS on your site.
If you want to find out for sure if it’s possible, you can ask in the CSS forums here:

Hi Kokkieh,
1. recently, my reader wrote a testimony under the comment of a post.
And it does not fit into my current subject in my site. i saw testimonial. So i created a menu and posted it. it looks like another post, is there a special feature attached to it? i could well use post if there is no difference.2. How can i have format like WordPress’ Hugs? i am not a programmer, where to include the shortcode?
Please advise. Thanks.
-
Testimonials are a special type of post that’s kept separate from your other posts. You can add comments like that to a new testimonial, and then you can create a page to show the testimonials. That is basically what the Hugs are as well, though we have some custom code in there to make it display the way we want it to. That type of custom code is not possible on regular WordPress.com sites :)
You can learn all about testimonials and the different options for displaying them on your site here:

Hi there,
That is due to the limitations of mobile browsers. They don’t fully support the code we use to create the snow yet, and until they do the snow feature won’t work on mobile browsers.
Mobile browsers tend to lag behind desktop browsers when it comes to support the latest HTML, CSS and JavaScript. That’s why themes with video headers/backgrounds always have a fallback image option as well – video headers/backgrounds also don’t work properly on mobile browsers yet.

Noted with thanks.
Interested in the geolocation map that WordPress uses at front page, sometimes. Any possibility my blog has this also ?
-
Do you mean the map some sites use to show the location of their business? You can add that using the contact info widget – if you insert an address it will show a map indicating that address. You will need to get an API key from Google first, though, to embed the map.
