You cannot use the grid format on the front page template, no. The front page template and grid page template are two completely separate things.
The front page template can show up to 3 featured pages that you assign via Theme Options in the Customizer. There is no way to add more than 3 pages, or to change the layout of the front page.
The grid page template, on the other hand, will automatically show in a grid any pages that are set as child pages to the grid page in page attributes.
The way these pages behave is determined by the theme, and you cannot combine both templates into one page or otherwise manually control their layout.

i created an invitation post with a form asking people to key in email address. I would like to schedule my future posts of the same event to those who provided email address. How do i ask WordPress to post an article daily for 1 week to the list of subscribers who have given their email to me?

Is that a plugin? Plugins cannot be used on WordPress.com, but if you can tell me what that particular plugin does I can tell you if we have any similar functionality built in.

Do you mean like a newsletter? You’ll need to use a third-party service provider for something like this, for example, MailChimp or AWeber.
WordPress.com has no built in newsletter functionality. While you can schedule posts on your site, they will only be emailed to people who have signed up for email notifications on WordPress.com itself, be it via the Reader, Action Bar, or a subscription widget on your site. If people submit their email address to you via a regular contact form that does not subscribe them to updates on your site as well.

To use WooCommerce you’ll need to get a hosting account at a provider like Pressable or Bluehost, and then you can install the open source WordPress.org software there. See:
You can’t do this on your existing WordPress.com site, but you can export your WordPress.com site to the self-hosted one once you have hosting set up and WordPress installed there.

No, who you follow is something that’s set internally in your account. Followers on your site do not have access to data regarding your account.
However, you can add the Blogs I Follow widget on your site, which will show a list of the x number of sites you followed most recently, if you want to share the info with your site’s visitors that way.

It’s not possible to add links to the options in a contact form, no. The HTML for contact forms are generated automatically from the shortcode, so you can’t add extra HTML.
It’s also not possible to edit the page that appears after a contact form is submitted, unless you have the Business Plan.

I’m not sure what you mean here. Do you mean a spreadsheet that’s embedded in a WordPress.com post? It would help if you can give me a link to the post/page where the spreadsheet is embedded.

You can upload documents the same way you upload images, via the Add Media button. The document will then appear on your site as a link that people can click to open or download the document.

Password protected posts are visible to everyone, and email subscribers to your site will be notified about them, but they’ll only be able to read the posts if they have the password.
If you want a post to be completely invisible, you need to publish it as Private instead – then only admins on the site will be able to see it.
