Malware link appears in the "clicks" in my stats

I was looking at my stats and noticed a link labelled “adsdelivery1.com ” that someone had clicked on 5 times. This was unfamiliar to me, so I clicked on it and got a message from my anti-virus software saying this was a dangerous site. I googled and found that it is malware. Does this mean that my blog is somehow infected, or does it mean that someone whose computer is infected visited my blog, and that there is nothing wrong at my end? I am not getting any malware pop-ups myself and I don’t see anything unusual on the posts that have been visited.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I can’t see anything on your site linking to that URL from a quick look. I’ll tag this for staff to follow up. Hopefully they can track down where on your site that link is and how it got there.

Please subscribe to the thread and be patient while waiting for them to reply.

    Hi there,

Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your blog. If someone visits your blog with a computer or browser that’s infected with a virus or malware, they may end up seeing spammy links like that inserted into your blog. If they then click on those links, those clicks will show up in your stats (even though the links are only in that person’s browser, not on your blog itself).

Our developers are aware of the issue, but for now you can just ignore spammy-looking links like that. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help! :)

Thanks very much! I had visions of my blog visitors getting infected by clicking on something on my site, so this is reassuring.

You’re welcome! It’s definitely a good think to check on. :)

A good thing, even! Sorry about that typo.
