Manage/Edit domains

  I purchased a domain name from an external provider. I would like to redirect people who use my external domain name TO my WordPress.com site (johnvfitness.wordpress.com). However, I have now selected the option to redirect my WP site TO my external domain. So I have created an endless loop!! Help! I do not have the option to ‘manage’ or ‘edit’ domains for some reason as instructed. How can I undo this action???

  I am seeing johnvfit.com point correctly to your WordPress.com site.

  It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.

  I am seeing johnvfitness.wordpress.com as the primary URL for your site (meaning it is the one that people will see). Do you want that as the primary, or do you want johnvfit.com to be the primary?

  Thanks for your response rootjosh! I see the site is appearing now, however the address bar still shows the long wordpress address, but I want johnvfit.com to be the primary address, and the one people see when on the site. How do I do that?

  I can help with that!

  The problem is that johnvfit.com was not set as your WordPress.com site’s primary domain. I have switched that for you and the URL should now display correctly. For future reference, you can change or update your primary domain by logging into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and going to Store–>Domains.

  Hi Rootjosh, I am still not able to view my site! When I put johnvfit.com in my address bar, the page simply doesn’t come up… Do you have any idea as to what’s happening here?

  It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=johnvfit.com

  Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
