Managing DNS Problems
-
I’m trying to go from a WordPress.com blog to a WordPress.org one. I’ve attempted to change my DNS (I’m using Bluehost) but can’t get onto the “Manage Your Domain” page, try to log on with my customer number and DNS password, but constantly go to an error page that is titled “404 Not Found” and reads “Oops… Sorry, the page you requested does not exist.” Someone please tell me why it’s doing this and how I can fix it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

At least I’m not the only one… must be a site issue because I’ve read several online instructions and followed them all correctly.

You’re trying to log in with your customer number and DNS password where, exactly? You log in a WP.com using your username and password.
-
When you are changing your dsn, web hosting, you are directed to an external site with a new customer number and password. It the external site that the message “oops! page not found” is popping up. It is WP’s link.

Yes I know that. I go to “store” then “domain” and to “manage your domain”. After making a new dns password and clicking “manage your domain” is when I try to use the customer number and dns password.

To be more specific, I’m following these instructions.
I get through step 5 just fine. The trouble starts when I click “Manage Your Domains,” enter my customer number and new password I was prompted to create on the page I’m brought to, and am then prompted to create a PIN.
I entered a sequence that I’d like to use to set my pin, clicked save and then got a 404 page that says “Sorry, the page you requested does not exist.” Now when I click “Manage Your Domains” from my WordPress.com dashboard, I just get the 404 page.

Howdy all,
Thanks for reporting this everyone. We are seeing the same issue on our end too and we are reaching out to our domain administration service for resolution ASAP. We’ll post updates to this thread.
Thanks for your patience and for using WordPress.com.

Howdy again,
Thank you all for your patience. The issue leading to the 404 has been resolved and you should now be able to access the Domain Manager as expected.
If you have any issues, please let me know. I’ll keep monitoring this thread.
Thanks again!
