Managing followers

  How can I block or remove followers from my blog? My blog is public but I don’t want certain strangers following me. If I decide to make my blog private/by invitation only, do all of my readers have to create a WordPress account in order to read my blog?

  Hi Beth – It’s not possible to remove followers from a public blog. We consider that anyone can choose how to follow the blog, whether by visiting, by RSS feed, or by email.

  You can set your blog to private and then only those readers you approve can view it. Yes, they would all have to create a WordPress.com account, but they do not need to create a blog. They can create a username-only account:
