managing my site
-
This is a terribly stupid question–I’m trying to recussitate an old blog and I just cant get in to manage it—I have the log in credential and the site exists—but I keep getting a message that site is mapped to wordpress already–how do I unravel this?
-
Hey there, can you send a link to your site? We’ll check it out and point you in the right direction for support.
-
Ah okay! Yeah this is just under a different username. Can you log out and log back in with the username or email associated with the site? The email should be the one that gets comment notifications and what not, so you can try commenting on the site and checking all of your email addresses if needed.
Does that help? If needed, we do have an account recovery form here:

Ok, I logged out and back in and when I click on “my site,” it asks me if I want to start a site—and cant find a way to associate the existing site
-
You’re still logged in as @randallboe though; and the site is under another username and different email address. So you’ll want to log out, but when you log back in, use the other address.
If you comment on the site, and check the email address that the comment notification was sent to, did it go to the one listed here?

I logged out–and logged back in using (email visible only to moderators and staff). I have an account–but when I click “my site” I get a page that says I don’t have a site and would I like to start one. Are there two wordpress accounts?
-
Hi there,
Yes, there are two accounts and the site you are trying to access is not connected to the username
randallboeor the Gmail address you provided. Do you know the other email and/or username connected to https://thanksforlettingmeshare.com/? -
I tried my other gmail account which is (email visible only to moderators and staff)–but it said there was no account connected to that gmail address. So, I’m kind of at a loss–is there an account recovery process?
-
There is! If you have the transaction IDs from charges on this account (which there is one from February 2021), you can use the Account Recovery form to prove ownership of the site, then WordPress.com support can help you from there. You can find that form here:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
Just fill out as much information as you have including an email address where Support can get in touch. The transaction ID will be on your bank statement as
WordPressfollowed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:WordPress XXXXXXXXXXYou can read more about what the account recovery process entails here:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
I hope that helps!
