Managing orphaned media files?

How can I replace a media file and keep the same url? Deleting and reuploading seems to create a loop of incrementally higher numbers… =(
I have a PDF form that no longer shows up in my media library, but is still on the server somewhere. Because the tinyurl is published in promotional materials, I simply need to replace the existing file with the updated one.
The ghost form can still be found at http://tinyurl.com/YLCProposal2013 which is the incorrect file and is NOT listed in my media library. =(
The updated form that should replace it is here http://tmyouth.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/2013-youth-leadership-conference-prospective-presenters-form3.pdf.
Help?!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blogs and/or blog content does not remove any indexed items from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. WordPress.com doesn’t have any control over that. For more information you can read our FAQ about search engines here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
