We are trying to manage our Toastmaster Club website. The site was set up by a past member using his personal account and email address. The annual subscription for Domain Mapping is billed to him personally. Nominated club members can update some Page content on our website using the club’s own email address and password. We would like to manage all content and payments via our own account attached to our club email address. How can we arrange this? Thanks.

So originally the if the owner of the site is the Past member, he will have to transfer the ownership of the site, for you to manage it, as I look at the Link we have shtm.org.au , its a custom domain, so firstly the Domain has to be transferred using this guide Transfer Domain to another WordPress accountThen, the site also can be transferred to your account using this guide Transfer Site to another WordPress account

So just a few additional inputs, just make sure when transfer is done, the correct usernames and the associated email id’s are used, where the site and domain have to be transferred. This will give you all the rights, you can then manage the Purchases and content as well as the users you want to be associated with the website to manage the content.

Hi, we are still having problems transferring ownership of our site from previous club member, Vikesh Anand to shtmenquiry. Yesterday, Vikesh advised me as follows:-

I’ve received confirmation from WordPress that the website has been transferred to shtmenquiry. Just to clarify, the domain name is still with Melbourne IT and as such the option to transfer the domain was not showing up for me.
Let me know if you now see the billing option. Thanks VikeshI can now see the billing option. I was able to add my credit card details, but I could not delete Vikesh’s. details. And I can’t see the screen that allows you to edit name, address, phone number, etc.
In short, shtmenquiry still cannot administer the site. Can you please help us further?

So to transfer a Custom domain you will need staff assistance, as its also mentioned in the support document. Here are the details again Custom Domain Transfer
So is the website transferred successfully? What is the new URL and who the username with it?
Also for transferring the domain, can the username here of the domain owner give a confirmation in this thread. In this case, I think Vikesh, can he give a confirmation from his username here.

My username is vikeshanand. I’ve gone through WordPress support already to transfer the ownership to shtmenquiry and don’t see the billing details any longer in my login. Ian should be able to add his credit card details now.

You should be able to go here to update your credit card information.
Let me know if that doesn’t work.
In regards to changing the contact information, you will need to do that through Melbourne IT since the domain is registered with them.

Nope! This didn’t work either. Just got an error message, “Could not update stored details” The payment details still seem to be linked to Vikesh’s card, (which has expired, so a warning message is showing)…… Also, I can only change the text on our web Pages – not the details in the panel on the right, where I need to add our phone number; or the other page elements. We still do not seem to be the Owner. ???

Hi Ian !
For domain Ownership, you will have to contact Melbourne IT, and ask them, how can they transfer the Ownership of the Domain, as the Domain is an external Domain, WordPress only takes care of the Domain Mapping, and that is now possible with a Plan only, so the new owner has to just renew the Plan in WordPress and renew the domain with Melbourne IT. Also they will update your Contact information as mentioned by staff-doublebassd , also for Credit card details, for the error of Credit card details, you could update, which countries card did you try? Alternatively you can also use the Paypal account to link with it, the staff can provide you additional details.About updating the Panel on the right, it is a text widget, from your dashboard, you need to navigate to
Personalize Themes–>Customize–>Widgets–>Sidebar
it is a Text Widget
You can use this guide to update the widget and the information you like to add like your phone number.Hope this helps, let us know for further questions..!

Hi. I am afraid none of this helps.
I do not seem to have a problem with Melbourne IT. I can logon to this account, and I have updated payment details and renewed the domain. I do not know how the technical side of things work between them and WordPress. I do not know what you mean about Domain Mapping (I am not a “Techo”., sorry!).
Re Credit Card details, here’s what has happened (and I have tried this several times): If I go to Domaims/shtm.org.au/payment settings/domain mapping/ I see a warning message, “! Credit Card expiring soon – Mçard …2276 Exp Mar 2017” If I then go to Payment Method/Billing History/Upcoming Charges, I see “Jan 20, 2018, Domain Mapping $13” If I then go to Manage your Credit Cards, I see …..Mçard xxx2596 This is my credit card, and is the correct one – not the xxx 2276 one. But it just will not link to shtm.org.au . If I go to Manage Purchases/Purchases/Domain aping/shtmenquiry/ I see $13 USD/year. Subscription renews on Jan 20 2018, Payment Method: None. If I then go to Edit Payment Method/Add Card Details, and add my card details (Mçard xxx2596), it just duplicates the entry, but does not delete the previous card (…2276), and it does not replace the old card linked to the account.I know all that is long, but it is driving me crazy.
Finally, about updating the panel on the right: if I go to Personalize Themes/Customize/Widgets/ , I get a big error message, “SORRY, THE CUSTOMIZING TOOLS DID NOT LOAD CORRECTLY” I have also tried this many times, and I assumed that it was because shtmenquiry is not recognised as having permission.
I hope someone can help me to get this sorted as I think I am losing my mind….. Thanks!

I am wondering if the problem lies with the “People” settings? There are two People listed under My Site: shtmenquiry and vikeshanand. If I click on me (shtmenquiry) , I cannot change the current setting (Admin). If I click on Vikesh, I can change his role, and under “Delete Vikesh” I can Attribute all content to another user or Delete all content created by Vikesh. As Vikesh is no longer associated with this site, I need to end up with just shtmenquiry associated with the site while leaving the site exactly as it is. I haven’t been game to tinker with these settings for fear of breaking our site….
Please bear in mind that our club is run by volunteers and I am a 69 year-old trying hard to keep up with the technology! I hope you can help me further. Many thanks. -

You are on the right track to Edit your Credit card, Change Credit Card
Is your credit from the Countries listed here Worldwide CountriesAbout Customizing, if you are able to change the text on the posts, you should be able to manage the widgets too, here is the guide, and try re-loading it Customizer
Also, there is another way to access your admin, try this shtm.org.au/wp-admin
This would give you access to the Old dashboard, on the left-hand side, go down to Appearances–>Widgets
See if you are able to access that, but I would suggest using the first method to access the Widgets, as all the support documents are now using the New dashboard to guide users.
For your inquiry on Users/People
As you are the Admin you own the site, you cannot change the roles, Can you let us know, what is the Role Vikesh is having.

Hi pavanraheja, Good news! I managed to get into Widgets, and update the side panel, so thank you. (I think part of the problem was with my old laptop. I tried logging in on a different computer and could see the New dashboard, :)
Re Users/People; Vikesh no longer has a role as he has left the club. I would like to delete him, but the options do not seem to allow this: just Attribute all content to another User (I have done that), or Delete all content created by Vikesh. So, how should I delete Vikesh without deleting anything on the site, please?

Glad to hear, that the widgets is getting in place, so surely you have control over the website.In order to remove users from your Site here is a guide which can help you , the Guide explains other things about users you add as well, here is more information about it Removing Users

Credit Card Issue
Just one’s try to do this Browser IssuesJust check the browser you are using is from Browse Happy, secondly just try to clear the Cache and Cookies, and then try to update the Credit Card Details, Just try to do this, and let us know, Or else I can again tag the staff to help you with the issue.

Yes, I have control over the website, thanks.I have tried three different browsers and three different computers, but I still cannot change or remove Vikesh (he is also listed as an Administrator). And I cannot remove his expired credit card from our Domain Mapping subscription. I can add another credit card, but it does not link to our subscription or replace Vikesh’s card. The error messages I get read “There was an error updating vikeshanand”, “There was an error removing vikeshanand” and (for the credit card) “Could not update stored details”. I hope we can solve this soon.
