Managing two blogs

I have an anonymous blog, which is my “main identity.” But I’d like to set up a new blog for a tutoring service I’m starting. It would be convenient to have the two linked. The problem is, whenever I post to the tutoring site, it lists me as Cmajor7, and that’s not something I want students or parents clicking on. I’ve tried “inviting” myself as a new identity, but it’s not showing up on my users lists.

What do I do? I’ve already burned a good domain name site on the second site and I don’t want to start from scratch.

It won’t show up retroactively. You’ll have to edit those posts one at a time, possibly take them down and re-post them using the new identity.

That doesn’t help much. It shows me, cmajor7, as the only user, even though I’ve invited a “second” version of myself. I need to remove my cmajor7 name as the author of posts on the second site. How do I go about doing that?

You need to invite the second version to be administrator, not just user or author. Then when you are signed in as that user, delete the other from that blog.

You would have to create a new WordPress user name using a different email account, and then logout of cmajor7 and login with your new user name for posts to appear under that name.
    If that makes sense.

    AARRRGH! Guys:

I’ve already invited the “new” me, but the new name isn’t showing up on the blog’s list of users. How do I get it to show up so I can kick the “old” me out of the captain’s chair?

You probably will have to sign out of your old username and sign back in as the new one.

When you say you invited the new you, what exactly did you do? Step by step?

In the meantime, you might set your personal blog to private.

also on your profile page you can set a nick name
so that nick name appears when you make post entrys
