Manifest – why does "by author" show under Post Title ?
-
Hi there –
Using the new theme – Manifest. I’m wondering why my post reads “by Antonette Bowman” under my post title at some times and not others? Also, when I post and later edit my post, the “by Antonette Bowman” disappears – and the title of the post becomes a LINK to the version of my post that includes “by Antonette Bowman”. Do you know why this might be happening? I’ve been doing a lot of editing in setting up this blog…also tried deleting temporary internet files, etc.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Some themes do list author bylines and some do not. This theme does and if you wish you can choose a theme that does not display authors. See here for a list of those that do and don’t display authors > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

Will you please also either post an active link to the blog in question or link your username to the blog? Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

That is the way the theme is designed. The author byline does not show up on the main page where all the posts are listed, but does show up on the single post pages you get to after clicking on a post title. You can verify that on the theme demo: http://manifestdemo.wordpress.com/ .

Thank you very much for the help! I need to be sure to check the theme demos before diving in.
