Manual Url Change

I deleted my old site crabilouse.wordpress.com because it wasn’t the one under my premium plan, but now I cant chance my new site to that name. Is there any way you can just completely reset everything so I can start a new site that’s crabilouse.wordpress.com? that would also help me because my editor wont ever load, which is why I don’t currently have the paid plan.

    Thanks

When you deleted crabilouse.wordpress.com it was very clearly stated that subdomain would be locked forever; you even had to confirm it. You’ll have to wait untill a Staff member is available to see if your deleted site can be recovered.

    Hi there!

It looks like you deleted the site about four days ago. We can still restore it for you if you confirm. For future reference, please do not delete a site if you want to reuse its address. In the confirmation message, we mention that the address can’t be reused if you delete the site.

Also, it’s worth noting that if you add a custom domain to your site with a WordPress.com plan, the WordPress.com address will not be visible to your visitors. So it won’t matter much what your WordPress.com site is because your visitors will see the custom domain you add to it.

Please confirm if you still want to go ahead with restoring the deleted site.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to learn more about the site you’re creating with us. Would you mind telling us more about your new site? What’s the site for, and what features do you need on the site? Based on your site requirements, we’ll be happy to share specific guides and suggestions and help you accordingly.

    Thanks!
