Map a 1&1 domain to Worpress

    Hello,
    I have posted in here once before but the expert was unable to answer my question so i will try again.
    I have purchased a new domain with 1&1. I want to map (not move) it to WordPress. I am selecting the business plan, proving a name, and then when it gets to the domain stage i am entering the domain i own and i get the message ‘this domain is taken’ and there is no option for me to map it, i am only given the option to pick a similar domain or go back.
    Please can someone help who really does know the answer because i have already spent hours going over it with the expert who seemed to know less than me only for her to stop replying :(
