Map a domain I already own

    Hello, I’m trying to map a domain russiangal.com. It suggests subscribing and paying for 12 months of annual premium subscription. I can’t map my own domain without adding to my cart that item. Why do I have to pay for 12 months premium subscription if I’ve already paid for 3 months of Basic Managed WordPress. Thank you.

    Hi there,

    The only way to connect a domain to a WordPress.com site is via one of our upgrade plans, though we also have a personal plan that is much cheaper than Premium. You can select that plan at My Site ->Plans.

    I’ve already paid for 3 months of Basic Managed WordPress

    That is not a WordPress.com upgrade. If you are paying another company for WordPress hosting it means you’re using the self-hosted WordPress.org software for your site, which is something completely different from WordPress.com. If you want your site to be on WordPress.com you don’t need to pay for hosting somewhere else. You just need to pay for ownership of your domain so you can connect it here.
