map a domain not registered message

  I have tried to map a domain I own (not registered with WordPress.com) as well as a sub-domain, but the mapping page says I cannot as the domain is not registered. The sub-domain I have tried is ‘robert.batten.id.au’
  I have been using ‘batten.id.au’ for months for email. I have added a CNAME record for ‘robert.batten.id.au’ to redirect to my blog and if I enter that into my browser the redirect works, but then wordpress.com displays an error saying the URL has not been mapped to the blog.
  I have tested other domains I own and it doesn’t report the error message for those.

  I’m trying to map notesdopinio.cat as my site address (notesdopinio.wordpress.com)

  I’m get the message that notesdopinio.cat has not been registered yet so it cannot be mapped. But is has been registered, as you can easily check.
