Map a Domain screen not working
-
I’m able to enter the owned domain into the window, however clicking the ‘Add’ button doesn’t do anything. Trying to fix a domain mapping issue.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
We need details please.
1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be logged in under the exact same username account that purchased the upgrade to renew. If you do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites and upgrades to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Thank you for your help!
1. domains to map are standrewsjhs.ca and standrewsjhs.com – both are registered and active, and already pointing at our wordpress.
2. standrewsjhstoronto.wordpress.com
3. username was someone who used to work here but retired, and was removed from the blog. The mapping has fully expired (i.e. it’s not in the mapped domains list, even as an expired option).
4. upgrade was purchased some time ago, was renewed, and expired at the end of October.I don’t know if it’s a renewal or a new mapping that needs to be done now.
The person who did the last renewal is no longer connected to the blog – we’ve tried re-adding that account and received the message “You do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “ST. ANDREW’S JHS”
-
if the previous blog owner has been removed from the blog, who does ownership pass to? I can see all the administratos and contributors, but am unsure who now has official ownership (and ability to purchase upgrades) for the blog.
-
EDIT: successfully mapped one of the domains (standrewsjhs.com).
Trying to map standrewsjhs.ca still does not bring up the purchase screen.

Hi there,
If a domain mapping expires there is a waiting period before a different username will be able to map the same domain. This is to prevent anyone from mapping a domain once mapping expires and so-doing preventing the actual owner from re-mapping it.
So you will either need to wait a couple of weeks and then add the mapping upgrade, or the original owner will need to post here to give me permission to add that mapping to a different user on the site.
I don’t know if it’s a renewal or a new mapping that needs to be done now.
The mapping upgrade has already been removed from the site, so you will need to add a new mapping. But that’s only possible once the waiting period is over.

Hello, I have retired. Mapping and blog ownership needs to be transferred to Marisa Cocco (@cocco on WordPress) for the standrewsjhstoronto blog.
We need to map standrewsjhs.ca to point to our blog. Thank you.
-
I renewed the mapping for the year – still need to transfer the Mapping ability AND blog ownership over to Marisa Cocco. Do you need her email address? She is listed as an admin on the blog.
-
Thanks for confirming.
The owner of the site itself is the username, @jhsparentcouncil, but I’ve transferred the mapping from your account to the username @cocco as requested.
-
Thanks for the update – I’ll get in touch with that user. Can I ask that person to post here to change it over?
-
Thanks for letting me know. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you need any more help with this.
-
The site, standrewsjhstoronto.wordpress.com, and the domain mapping upgrades on that site now belong to the username, cocco, yes.
