I am trying to rebuild my website http://www.penndutchfurniturestore.com. Every time I try to add it as a new site it says I have to map it with Word Press Premium. I have a premium account that expires in July 2017. Why can’t I get in to rebuild my website.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I checked your site. It is not hosted on WordPress.com, your domain http://www.penndutchfurniturestore.com/ points to domaincontrol.com. Based on this info, I assume you are WordPress.org user.

To know more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, check this link : https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

To use your site with WordPress.com you need to map your domain. Refer the link on how to do so.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

For mapping a domain it’s mandatory to buy an upgraded plan https://wordpress.com/pricing/

I have a premium account that expires in July 2017

There is slight misconception, we have no such thing like premium account in WordPress. I believe you must have bought premium upgrade plan for some other site. For every site you need plans individually. If you have purchased a premium plan for a site, you need to buy again for another. One plan can’t be used for both sites.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

  • Hi there,

Your WordPress.com site, steve094.wordpress.com, had a Premium Plan, but you cancelled it on 9 January 2017.

As the plan was only due to expire in July I can still add it back to your site for you. Please confirm if I should do that.

I don’t recall canceling my account, but I may have. Yes, if you can reactivate it, please do. Thank you!

  • I have restored your plan and domain mapping upgrade for you.

I notice your domain is currently pointing to GoDaddy.com rather than to us, so I’ve not set it as the primary domain of the site yet. So for now you will still see steve094.wordpress.com in your browser when you visit your site. (Let me know if I should move the upgrades to the other site in your account, https://penndutchfurniturestore.wordpress.com/)

To point your domain to us, you need to log in at your domain registrar, GoDaddy, and change the domain’s name servers to ours. That will cause the self-hosted site you currently have on your domain to go offline, so only do that once you’re ready to make the WordPress.com site your actual site again.

You can find more info on the domain mapping upgrade here:

Obviously this is not what I am trying to accomplish. I am trying to redesign my existing website to be responsive with all formats. I don’t want to move it from my current GoDaddy hosting. I was simple looking to redesign my current site. I currently have the WordPress builder on my GoDaddy account and am having problems getting that set up as well. I am simply looking for a template to redesign my current website. When I logged into WordPress last night and tried to design my site I could not get it o do anything. I want to be able to drop and drag things, add photos, add text, add slide shows etc. I found it very hard to figure any of this out on the builder. For that, I think I would like to completely drop WordPress and I will go back to the site builder on GoDaddy. Thanks for all your help, but this is to complicated for me to figure out. Thanks again.

  • WordPress.com is completely separate and different from the version of WordPress, called WordPress.org, which you are using with GoDaddy. If you want to work on the GoDaddy site, you don’t need a domain mapping or a Premium Plan with us.

I restored the upgrades and gave you information on how to point your domain to us because in your first post you indicated you were trying to create a site with us. If that’s not what you want to do, then this is the wrong forum.

To create a new WordPress site at GoDaddy you’ll need to log into your hosting account with them and install the WordPress software there.

If you need help with the WordPress setuf part specifically, you can post in the WordPress.org forums instead.
