Map An Existing Domain

I have a Premium account and mapped the WordPress blog to my existing domain. It appears that it worked. However, adding “www” in front of my existing domain takes me to my old site and not the new WordPress blog that I mapped.

How can I correct this on the Domain Mgmt/ DNS page or with my registrar?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes it does. http://www.amyxmckinsey.com redirects to http://amyxmckinsey.com seamlessly just as expected.

www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters so using it makes little sense.
