Map an existing domain Go button not working
-
Hi,
I purchased the WordPress.com upgrade to map my .com domain parked at Godaddy. As per the WordPress instructions, I typed my website name in the ‘Map an existing domain’ field on the WordPress site, but when I click on the ‘Go’ button, nothing happens. The loading icon on my browser doesn’t even register any activity. I’ve tried doing it through 3 different browsers in case that was the problem, but no success with any of them.
I also cannot access the ‘My Upgrades’ page; it just keeps trying to load then times out. I have an email receipt that says that I have been charged for the mapping upgrade option, but I am unable to even open the My Upgrades in WordPress to see the history there.
Could you please help.
Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please tell us:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/Note that I have tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Are you trying to map the domain selfempowermentcreatively.com? It looks like you’ve got the upgrade purchased now. The next step is to set your name servers to the following:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Here’s a guide for making this change in GoDaddy’s system:
Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you for your response. I have now set the name servers for selfempowerment creatively.com at Godaddy.
Could you please tell me a way to check if my wordpess site has become .com before publishing live as I’m still building it.
Also how do I access page builder plugin’s author’s template called ‘Vantage’? I don’t see it when I do a search in WordPress.com’s template selection page.
Is there any other template you would recommend for page builder plugin and woo commerce? What do you think of page builder? Does it make it easier for a novice to create a website or is it better to stick with the regular tools of WordPress.com? (I haven’t added this plugin yet).
In response to the 1st posted answer, I was using iPad and latest version safari, as well as windows pc, explorer, Google chrome, and Mozilla. There were several screens in WordPress.com that weren’t loading or functioning so I wonder now if it was a WordPress system glitch?
Thank you for your time.

That’s not how the process works. If your website is public, so is the changeover. It will take up to 72 hours for the DNS to settle down and redirect properly. If you’ve already mapped the domain, make sure you set the custom domain to Primary.
You cannot use plugins. You cannot add external themes. You cannot use Woocommerce. Those are options for externally hosted blogs using WordPress.ORG software, not options for wordpress.com blogs.

Is there any type of shopping cart for e-commerce that can be added to my website if I build it in WordPress.com? Is there an upgrade feature that allows access to e-commerce?

Yes, there is. The ecommerce bundle is the $299 a year one outlined in the Store. http://store.wordpress.com/plans/

As raincoaster mentioned, it can take up to 72 hours before the DNS change fully propagates. But I just checked your domain’s whois and your nameservers are set to GoDaddy again:

We don’t allow users to install plugins or themes. We have many themes you can choose from in our theme showcase:

It does sound like glitch. We did have about an hour where several of our pages weren’t loading correctly last week. Are you still having trouble accessing these pages? I’d love to get that fixed up if its not related to the bug from last week.
