Map Domain Name?

  I have purchased a domain on godaddy.com. I use inmotionhosting and added that domain and installed WordPress there. Do I need to setup an account on WordPress.com and map the godaddy domain to use WordPress, or do I just use wordpress thru inmotion hosting?

  Yes. If that is where your site is hosted. Mapping your domain to WordPress.com (here) would mean creating a site here instead of where you are now and entail purchasing an appropriate WordPress.com upgraded plan. https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
