Map free sub-domain and my custom domain
-
For the past one year, I am posting my blogs on a free sub-domain of wordpress. Now, I am planning to buy a domain for the same. My only concern is how to maintain this free sub-domain along with this new custom domain while making the latter primary. The free sub-domain should continue to exist without making the contents of the blog duplicate.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You can add as many domains as you want to your blog. Only one of those domains will be the Primary Domain: all your other domains will redirect to the primary one. Visitors can get to your blog using any of the domains you added, but the address they see in their browser’s address bar will always be the primary domain.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the quick response. Couple of questions though.
- If I buy a domain from wordpress then, how can I add sub-domains to it?? So say, I bought, abc.com. Now I want to host, blogs at, abc.com/blogs (WordPress). How to add this blog sub domain?
- Also, will there be any issue if I add another sub-domain to my, abc.com on any other hosting provider’s site to host my custom website?

abc.com/blogs is not a subdomain. Subdomains are in this form: blog.abc.com
Please read the following article which includes the possible scenarios for mapping subdomains: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/
Hope this helps.
