My Revolver Maps widget will not display on my sidebar even after following all the instructions on the support page for widgets.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Hope,
Some types of code aren’t permitted on WordPress.com and get stripped out for security reasons:
CodeIf Revolver Maps has a plain HTML widget that doesn’t contain any of that code, that should work. Otherwise, we do have embed support for Google Maps:

Unfortunately, I know nothing about code so I have no clue about what code Revolver has or doesn’t have. WordPress used to support those maps. Google maps are plain ugly.
Thanks anyway. I’ll look around for another host. -
Hi Hope,
I took a look at the Revolver Maps site, and it has Javascript widgets, but it also offers you an alternate HTML widget if Javascript won’t work. Javascript is stripped out on WordPress.com for security reasons, but a plain HTML widget will work.
For whatever widget, just make sure to choose the HTML option on their site:
4. Advanced Settings:
JavaScript version, displays 2D map if Flash Player is not installed (recommended)
HTML version, try this one if the JavaScript version fails on your profileIf that doesn’t work, leave the code in your widget and let me know so I can take a look at it.

Hi,
Tried following your suggestion but it did not work. So, the text portion shows up on my blog but the map does not. The widget keeps losing the information but, when last I checked, it was in the fourth widget position in the main sidebar. Thanks for your help. This is so frustrating. Hope -
Hi Hope,
I’m sorry, I didn’t look closely enough. You’re using the rotating globe map, which includes Flash. That won’t work here. You could use the static map, HTML code, though; the code looks like this:
<a href="http://www.revolvermaps.com/?target=enlarge&i=380726pyycg&color=ff0000&m=0"><img src="http://rd.revolvermaps.com/h/m/a/0/ff0000/128/0/380726pyycg.png" width="256" height="128" alt="Map" style="border: 0px;" /></a> -
Ah! You’re a doll. Thank you so much for your help. Had my heart set on the revolving map but at least the flat worked. Thanks again. Very much appreciate all the time you spent helping out. Hope
