Mapify it Plugin (or something similar)

  I want to take pictures of park maps, then create a custom map from this image with points of interest that are links to certain painting articles about that specific site. Mapify it does this for WordPress sites. (Unfortunately, I found out it’s for wordpress.org, not wordpress.com. $ouch$.

  I think you can do something like that with Google Maps – yes not the picture of the park map – have not done the map thing in a long time – but seems to me that if you have a point on the map – you can have a caption for the point and put a link in the caption – yes the link needs to be in html – but you can use the Post editor for the html – make the links and caption then switch to text view and copy the html –
