Hi! I’m trying to register my domain somewhere else, but I’m not receiving the authentication code they say I need via email. Please help.

Hey there,

I see that you already canceled the domain under your account. If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.

Yes please, the issue still remains that we aren’t getting the authentication codes.

The email that is connected to the domain is not the same email that is connected to your WordPress.com account. Have you checked the domain email to see if you received the code?

Hi there,

The transfer code can only be sent to the email address attached to your domain registration. This is an ICANN regulation, and there is no other way to get the code.

Please check that the email address on this page is correct, as that is where we are sending the code:

If that address is incorrect, please update it via the edit link on that page. Make very sure to select the option to opt out of the transfer lock, else you won’t be able to transfer that domain for 60 days after you make the change.

Do i still have to pay for mapped domain if i upgrade my plan to Premium? Or i will charge both of them?
