  I’m trying to find out if the $13 I paid WordPress a couple of months ago for a mapped domain also renewed my domain registration. My previous hosting company emailed saying the domain is expiring in 4 days.

  No domain mapping does not cover domain registration

  you need to renew the domain registration with your Registrar –

  please note – WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain name transfers – so you can’t move the registration to here
