Mapped domain name to wrong blog

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I want to map my domain, http://www.timerojak.com, to my new blog, http://timerojak.wordpress.com/. However, I accidentally mapped it to the wrong blog instead. I already checked “My Upgrades” but there is no option for me to transfer the upgrade to another site. Please assist.

    Thank you!!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Just to confirm, you’ve actually bought the domain mapping upgrade with the wrong domain — correct?

Staff assistance is required here, so I’m adding modlook tag to this thread. They’ll be here soon!

    Hi there,

Yes, I already paid the domain mapping upgrade. The domain is my existing domain and it is now mapped to another blog instead of my desired one.

    Thank you a lot!!!

    Hi there,

I just moved your domain timerojak.com so it’s linked to your blog timerojak.wordpress.com, as requested. You can finish mapping that domain by changing its name servers to point to WordPress.com, as described in our guide to Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping).

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

    Hi there,

Thank you for your help. I can now set the new domain to my primary address.

I already updated the DNS at my domain registrar. However, when I tried to access my website, it appeared to be
    “Index of /
    .ftpquota”

I don’t think it is normal because i never have this before. What should I do to fix this?

    Thank you a lot!

    Hi there,

Your domain timerojak.com is still using these name servers:

    • 1.nseasy.com
    • 2.nseasy.com

You will need to update your domain to these name servers to point it to WordPress.com:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

If you run into trouble with that, please contact your domain registrar for more help making that change (and to confirm that the change was successful). Once that is done, and the change takes effect everywhere, you’ll see your WordPress.com site when you visit the domain. :)
