Mapped domain, now what do I do?

    Hello:

I think I followed the instructions from https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

    1. I mapped my domain, which I already owned: indygaming.com through Google Domains
    2. I listed the wordpress name servers in my Google Domains account
    3. I cleared my web browser cache (Chrome)
    4. I confirm that my domain is using the wordpress name servers via whois.net

I assume I just go to my domain and it has me log in or something to be able to post and stuff? I do there and I get some error message.

When I log into wordpress.com I can go to “My Site” and http://www.indygaming.com is listed but it says “this site cannot be accessed” and when I try to add anything from that page it gives me error messages:

“You can’t get there from here (site_id mismatch error). This happens when an external blog (a self-hosted blog using the Stats plugin) is pointed to WordPress.com by DNS. If you are trying to migrate away from WordPress.com, please update your DNS to point the domain to your own server. Otherwise please contact WordPress.com support and explain what you were trying to do, what steps you took, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened. It’s probably Andy’s fault.”

Do I wait longer? Is there a problem? Am I missing something? Do I track down this Andy guy?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Under My Site, I deactivated the site I had listed to see if it would reconnect. I am now taken to a page to create a new site, but it won’t let me do anything but create a xxxxxx.wordpress.com site

I thought I’d create a xxxxxxx.wordpress.com site and then map my domain name to it. I can’t find where/how to do that but when I tried to delete it I was asked why I wanted to delete it. I chose “I want to change my site address” and through that process tried choosing my domain name but got the message:

“The domain name you entered is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog.”

So…. if it is mapped to a blog I Can’t Find It :(

You have your mapping messed up, I have flagged this for the staff to help. domain mapping is always done to a base blog (whatever.wordpress.com) – you also always work in the dashboard of the base blog (whatever.wordpress.com)

    Hold Your Horses!

It can take as long as 72 hours for DNS changes to become widely available. If you’re still not seeing your site loading at indygaming.com, please wait a few more hours, clear your browser cache, and try again.
    Nameservers Validated!

Congratulations! The nameservers appear to be set up correctly for indygaming.com.

    More Information
    Primary Blog is Set

indygaming.com is set as the primary domain for http://www.indygaming.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site.
