Mapped domain – removing from ns1.wordpress.com

At one time we had a domain mapped to our WordPress.com page. The mapped domain now refers to a different site, hosted elsewhere. I just removed the mapping from our account. But it appears that the WordPress name servers still have records for the old domain: When I query those nameservers I get an answer like this:
    winchesterculturalcouncil.org A 300 [5 Minutes] 192.0.78.24

I think that the presence of these old records might explain why some people get DNS errors in trying to load the winchesterculturalcouncil.org site. Is there any way to delete those old NS records from ns1. and ns2.wordpress.com (and any others)?

  • Hi there,

That domain is registered through InMotion Hosting and therefore you need to log in to their control panel to make any DNS changes. There’s no way to make any adjustments on our end.
