Mapped godaddy domain, but URL still shows .wordpress.com name

I’ve paid for a premium account. I tried mapping the Go Daddy domain to the word press website, but even after doing so when you type in my domain name it still shows it as a word press blog in the URL. I can’t find anything on the WordPress site to help me, and there is obviously no meaningful support from word press. Go Daddy said they needed some DNS and MX information, but I can’t figure out where to find that. Would appreciate help from a user, since wordpress the company is completely useless.
