Mapped to wrong domain
-
Hi,
I’ve mapped my wordpress site to citcent.org. I really wanted it mapped to toolkit.citcen.org. Is there some way I can change this?
Regards

Hi Jamie,
You can map a subdomain (toolkit.citcen.org) to your WordPress.com site by following the instruction here.
For your case, you need to add a CNAME record through your domain registrar.
toolkit.citcen.org IN CNAME example.wordpress.com*Note: replace example.wordpress.com to your WordPress.com site address.
Do let us know if you have further questions, we’ll be glad to help.

Correction: there should be a period at the end of the domain name.
toolkit.citcen.org. IN CNAME example.wordpress.com. -
Hi there,
I have removed the domain mapping from your site and now you can follow these instructions on how to map your subdomain to WordPress.com:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks for this fstat. Can you help me with the mapping please?
I have a domain registered outside of WordPress (citcen.org). I wish to set up mapping so that when people visit toolkit.citcen.org it points to my blog at citcentoolkit.wordpress.com but retains the url toolkit.citcen.org.
Also if someone visits citcentoolkit.wordpress.com it should show the url toolkit.citcen.org.
It seems I have now lost the free credit I had when I made the original mistake.

Hi there,
I’ve restored the domain credit in your plan, so you’ll be able to add the domain mapping for free now.
Please follow the instructions @fstat and staff-zara provided above. In particular, this will not work unless you create the required CNAME record at your domain provider to point the toolkit subdomain to your WordPress.com site.
