  I am not clear how to do the name change. I own a domain and want to map it through my blog at WP and lose the WordPress part. I realize it’s an upgrade. I’m stuck at the first part. My registrar is 1&1.com

  The first step is to change the DNS settings at your registrar.
  1&1 could help you do that if you have any trouble.
  Then it’s just a matter of entering the domain name under Store->Domains in your dashboard:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
