Mapping a Domain from a WordPress.com Blog I Deleted

    Hello,

    I purchased a domain name (knifefightatthegunshow.com) through WordPress.com. I deleted the site, but now I would like to use bluehost to host the domain. Is it possible to map the domain through bluehost, even though I deleted the site on WordPress.com?

    To see if the domain is still mapped to WordPress.com, I tried to create a new blog using the old name (knifefightatthegunshow.com). WordPress duly stopped me, saying ‘This domain is already mapped to a WordPress.com site.’ As an aside, if I decided to not switch to bluehost for hosting the domain, is there any way I could keep the domain on WordPress and re-start the site from scratch?
