Mapping a domain I own

  Hello there,

  I’m trying to map a domain name that I own. The Support page writes that it costs $13 per year but when I tried to do it I get a $120+ premium plan added to my shopping cart.

  How can I pay only for domain mapping?

  Hi,

  You need a paid WordPress plan to use an existing domain name.

  Do you already own a domain name? If you would like to use it here on WordPress.com all you need to do is “map” your existing domain to your site. You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site in order to map a domain. Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or map one you already own.

  Hi there,

  The $13 cost is only to add additional domain mapping upgrades on top of the domain already included in a plan.

  I see you have since bought a Personal Plan and a domain mapping, but let us know if you need any more help with this.
