Mapping a domain name

  Hi.

  I want to add beara.ie as a domain to point to my wordpress.com blog http://bearablog.wordpress.com

  Can you help as I get the error message that the domain has not been registered.

  Hi deepspin,

  Have you already tried these steps? Domain mapping is €13 per year for WordPress.com websites:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  A member of WordPress.com staff will usually be available via live chat during the process.

  I’m assuming you already own the domain beara.ie, .ie domains can take a couple of weeks to acquire in my experience.

  It might be worth checking with your domain provider also?

  Hi. Yes thanks.

  All you assumptions are correct. From trawling through the fora, it looks like ‘unusual’ domain name cause problems. I’m just not sure what to do next. It seems like most issues are picked up by WordPress people and sorted out.

  Hi Dave,

  I’ve tagged this thread for a staff attention. Hopefully a Happiness Engineer from WordPress support will be in contact soon.

  If things still don’t work out, you could export content to a self hosted WordPress site. It’s possible the IEDR rules for domains may be causing problems here on WordPress.com

  Sorry for the trouble! I’ve mapped the domain for you. You’ll need to update your name servers, and renew the temporary upgrade I added:

  Our name servers are:
  ns1.wordpress.com
  ns2.wordpress.com
  ns3.wordpress.com
