mapping a domain name to wordpress.com

    I am simply trying use my domain name 506southwashington.com that I purchased through Bluehost and use it with a wordpress theme (called Janice). I am getting hosting through a website I already have set-up with my web designers. So why do I have to pay $99.00 ($8.25/month) for Premium just to use a name I already purchased? Can I be charged just for the mapping?

    Hi there!

    If you’re paying for hosting elsewhere then you don’t need to map a domain to WordPress.com. You would only map your domain here if you want to use a WordPress.com-hosted site like this one – https://506southwashington.wordpress.com. Is that what you want to do or do you have a self-hosted WordPress.org site?
