Mapping a subdomain whose domain is registered by another user?

    I am trying to register a DNS record for a subdomain of a school’s .edu domain. Apparently, this is impossible if one person has registered a subdomain of that .edu domain on WordPress.com already. Is this true, and if possible, how can I register a separate subdomain without inflicting damage on the previously registered subdomain?

    Hi,

    Yes, we do limit subdomains of the same root domain to be mapped by the same user account. Regarding if there is a workaround for your situation, I’m checking with our team who shepherds the domain mapping feature.
