mapping an existing domain
-
if I already own a domain, do I have to have a premium or higher wordpress package to use it (the info on the site is confusing – looks like you can map with a personal package until you try to actually do it)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You have to get an paid WordPress.com plan(Personal, Premium or Business) to map your existing domain.Check out this support doc: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
It says “Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or map one you already own”.
You can map multiple domains, but you have to pay for additional mapping functionality(as mentioned in that document).
And check this out, if you are trying to map a Sub-Domain:

thanks otpidusprime. The problem is that when I select the personal plan and then try to add my existing domain, it gives a message that says that mapping can only occur at Premium or higher plans. I can’t seem to figure out how to make it work in the personal plan, even though it says it should be possible.

Well then i guess a we have to wait for staff member from WordPress to provide a clear answer on this issue, as the document is a little ambiguous on that topic.
